TO FINISH THE REST OF MY POEMS MAYBE
ππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
i've found love
wrapped around you
entwined in your hair
knowing you care
drops of my love
have sprinkled
on your mind
one of each kind
twirling on your tongue
ringing in your ears
sparkles in my eyes
tell you i love you
senses are
-Connie, 1973)
in bed, thinking of you
remembering the short time we had
wondering what you're gonna do
waiting for you to come back
come back to get me
wondering if i should pack
as yet, i haven't heard from you
but i know your writing's like that
wondering what i can do
i really love you, i know
of all life's things
i want you most, you know
(Connie-1973)
wanting you, missing you
needin' to see you once again
knowing how i feel
lost...empty without you
feeling i'll be
with you again
and endurance of
pain of being apart
we have the patience needed
to cope with the problems..
that other people
give us
we'l be together
even though
we're apart
because the strong
and beautiful feeling
is there
and it will endure
(Connie-1973)
lonesome is the
pattern
of things that are
twined around a
distant pen
writing all the
strange thoughts
that came into a head
to be shared with only one person
(Connie-1973)
i can see you
but i can't touch you
i can hear you
when i can't see you
i can feel you
when you're not there
and i need you.
(Connie-1973)
to look at his eyes
is to see the deep
dark brown secrets
of a probing subject
full of mysteries to
solve
to see a gentleness
with a stir of emotion
a tenderness of thought
the colors standing
vibrant
clinging
to my mind
clinging to my heart
the glowing wetness of meaning..
of meanings of all kinds
in the words
silently spoken
to know they will always
speak
to me in his warmth
coldness, despair
and love
showing that he is there
(Connie-1973)
we've been friends for so long
it hurts to know we're really not
i try to see just what went wrong
you changed so fast
a face of yours i've never seen
i was the one to notice last
it was so quick from week to week
bubbling over with great plans
lost at once, to something weak.
i don't trust you anymore
your faces are too many
i don't want to hear your lore
i don't care even to see you
if that's any way possible
true friends are such few
(Connie-1973)
the sunshine is dripping
sticky golden honey
onto my body
seeping
over its contours
shining
with its richness
the warmth of it drips
-slowly
across my stomach
feeling strangely content
the earth has come to
meet the sun
by pressing
near my back
waiting
for the dewy honey
to trickle
down to meet it
(Connie 1973)
i want you to feel
to know how i worry
when something goes wrong
we've been together so long
i'd hate to see it burn away
to nothing but wasted ashes
to know we love so much
to trust completely
to see there's no need for
such things as jealousy
because i am yours
yours from long ago
by now, you should know
how much i love you
(Connie-1973)
There was a guy last name McKuen I think, I can't quite remember right now but if you didn't like his poems you probably won't like mine either
look at what you've done
you broke a heart that loves you
you took out an invisible gun
and shot the fiery rays into the
few remaining shattered pieces
of a heart
to hurt, because you've hurt
because you won't talk
your words are stifled from
the dirt
that you wish to
throw------
to get revenge.
(Connie-1973)
the rain is crying
big loud teardrops
streaming from
the sky's face
falling hard to
the ground
who is thankful
soaking up the
moisture
for everyone's sorrow
it seems
someone finds a
pleasure
(Connie-1973)
i saw you againe
once more
i saw no-one but you
i felt inside
to love you more
i held on to each
piece
i didn't want to see
you go
i didn't want to lose
the feel of
your touch---
back to a sheet of paper
(Connie 1973)
the great vibrant colors
are flowing thru
my head
floating in my eyes
and out
around my body
the tearing of some
paper
sounds crisp
to my ears
all moving objects are
hazily flowing thru
all still objects distinctly
standing, gazing,
looking back at me.
(Connie-1973)
why did they take you away
from me
just when everything
was so beautiful
the tears in your eyes
fell
glistening on your face
i wanted to hold you
touch you
but they dragged you away
and held me back---
i cried.
(Connie-1973)
i saw him standing there
looking thru the iron bars
crying for someone to love him
peering thru the
sticky dimness
of the single cell he's in
wondering how everything
is in the outer world.
needing the one he loves
to be with him
to know she's not
just a figment
of his imagination
to know she's real
and that
she loves him too
(Connie-1973)
you stay there
on your fine pillow
expecting
everyone to bow to
your every command
rejecting people until
you're ready to
socialize
expecting them to return
when you beckon
i won't be there
when you come calling
i've waited and
ran forward when
you called
i'll be gone and you'll be
wishing
you had treated
me
like a person
instead of a dog.
(Connie-June 1973)
i am numb
i feel as though
i'll never feel again
love is so strange
and i've melted in it
burned in it
now i'm freezing
i am frozen
(Connie-June 1973)
does it seem
like every time
i try to tell you
i love you
something
comes along
to stand in my way?
does it seem
like the more
i think i
understand you
the less
i really do?
(Connie, June 20, 1973)
i wish i could see you
to watch your expressions
as we talk about us
live in your reflections
to know what you are thinking
exactly how you feel
see what's holding you back
to find out if i can break that seal
i wish i could hole you
your body's warmth spread over me
or is there a distant chill
that maybe i just can't see
i really need to talk to you
and live in your mind
to enter thru your eyes
and make our love combine
(Connie-June 20, 1973)
More to come, in time, of de-cluttering
