Yeah, now these days there are go-fund-mes on the internet, and other ways of helping people. But a good old fundraiser for helping somebody, political, activist, or a family in need, or for any charity you may want to help out. It is endless. I welcome other ideas.A donation dinner party, anything you can think of. By all means, have permission from the charity or people this involves.
SET A FINANCIAL GOAL.
Calculate this by figuring how much you'd like to raise, tempered by how many guests can fit in your house and how much you think they can afford to pay. For example, if you can fit 20 guests at $50 a head, your goal can be $1,000. But 10 guests at $25 is wonderful, too.
ASK FOR DONATIONS,
Community grocery stores, do-nut shops, restaurants, etc. are usually eager to donate food and drinks and gift certificates, Simply explain your cause to the managers, noting that donations may be tax-deductible, and tell them that you'll print a program for the dinner, thanking them for their charity. You can also offer to post little signs next to the foods.
SET A DATE AND PRINT UP FORMAL INVITATIONS.
You can even get a card shop to donate the stationery. Describe your cause and why it's important to you, and to tell your guests that their donation will get them a full dinner, wonderful conversation and the good feeling of giving, all for what they'd normally spend at a restaurant.
INVITE AN HONORED GUEST.
For example, if your charity is like about cancer, you can ask a cancer survivor to speak at your dinner. Or you can ask your local band if they would like to donate their time and music to make the evening more entertaining.
